Only Organization in Florida Chosen to Represent Small Business

Atlantic Beach, FL (July 20, 2007)—TDI Products is proud to be the only small business chosen to be featured in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF) annual report to the community.

TDI is featured to illustrate how BCBSF is developing affordable products to meet the diverse needs of members, including small business owners.

“We were going to switch insurance providers until we learned of BCBSF’s new Health Savings Accounts,” TDI President Tom Caldwell said in the report. “It’s the first time some of our front-line employees have ever had insurance.”

More and more small businesses are dropping employee health benefits due to costs. According to the Florida Chamber Federation, 91 percent offered coverage in 1999—now it is approximately 65 percent. Most of these uninsured people work for small employers such as TDI Products, which make up the largest segment of Florida business.
